The primeval form, the first gesture, the archetypal original expression.
Andrea Chisesi was born in Rome in 1972, he moved to Milan and attended the Art School and the Polytechnic. In 1998 he opens his studio "Andrea Chisesi photografer" in Porta Venezia in Milan, where he begins to experiment with the technique that he himself will define "fusion" between painting and photography. The fireworks, and its figurative subjects such as dancers, owls, trees, volcanoes, are made with the dripping technique. The night landscapes are illuminated by fireworks that symbolize life.
Andrea Chisesi is present in the most important Italian exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale, Palazzo Giuri and Consulti. His personal exhibitions have been hosted in institutional buildings in many Italian cities, such as Syracuse, Taormina, Palermo, Naples, Rome, Milan Venice. In the exclusive setting of the Royal Palace of Caserta he presented his latest collection in 2019.
One day I started experimenting: I superimposed the photographic images of my models with my painting, giving life to my first “fusions”.
At first, however, I was not very satisfied; the rendering was too tied to photography and I felt the need to concentrate on the matter of my stratifications. So I decided to start printing the first castings on canvas in the dark room. I discovered a world that gave me many opportunities, and from there I never stopped! My work was born in stages. First I seek the balance between painting and posters, then I choose the images that will be placed within the work. Finally, I paint over the figures that are now one with the painting.
